Cheek implants provide new facial contours and dimensions to bring facial features into better balance. This surgery can enhance facial contours and brings balance to the facial features. Cheek implants can also used to correct facial asymmetries and congenital defects. The aging face often loses fullness in the cheeks, and this hollowness can create an impression of aging, and tiredness around the eyes.
The materials of choice for cheek augmentation are Silastic (medical-grade silicone rubber) and Gore-Tex. Because the implants rest directly on top of bone, they feel as if they were part of the bone itself. These cheek implants are stable over time and do not reabsorb so the results are permanent A cheek lift may also be used to replace the sagging cheek fat back over the cheekbones.
The cheeks should highlight the middle face acting as the pedestal for the eyes. Full cheeks portray youth and an attractive face. Aesthetically balanced cheek enhancement should be almost undetectable as the cheeks should be in harmony with the rest of the face. This result can restore self-confidence and boost self-esteem.
If you would like to improve your face to achieve an aesthetically pleasing more youthful appearance of the mid face then Cheek Augmentation surgery is right for you. Cheek Augmentation Surgery can correct deformities resulting from an injury or with which you were born or developed in adulthood. You should be realistic as to what can be achieved by Cheek Augmentation Surgery and understand the risks and side effects of this surgery.

An overnight stay is sometimes necessary when cheek implant surgery is performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures. There is minimal post operative pain and the results can be subtle yet dramatically enhance a patients overall look.
Common to all surgical procedures there are always risks associated with surgery. However, complications are uncommon. Bruising can occur and may take 2 weeks to resolve, while major bleeding is rare. Infection is infrequent (less than 0.5%) and will require a course of appropriate antibiotics. Displacement of the implants can occur in the early post operative course. This is prevented by avoiding pressure on the cheeks – sleeping, massaging the face or excessive movement. Some altered sensation around the cheeks is expected and will commonly return to normal between 6 to 12 weeks after surgery.
If Cheek Augmentation Surgery is not appropriate or not desired, non-surgical cheek shaping using an injectable product such as EVOLENCE or Restylane can provide good improvement in the shape and symmetry of the face in a simple local anaesthetic treatment. This will require repeated treatments to maintain the desired result. Alternatively, fat grafting can be performed to enhance the cheeks with a long lasting result using your our tissue.
Cost for the cheek implant procedure comprises anesthesia fees, facility fees, and surgeon’s fees. Since cheek implants are often performed during a facelift, forehead lift, or other procedure, anesthesia and facility fees can be combined.
